Filmed after the park’s season officially ended, Silver Dollar City is extending its world-famous Christmas décor into January, keeping millions of lights glowing to transform the park into a real-life holiday movie set.

The year's display featured an amazing replica of the Chateau, an exquisite gingerbread chapel, and spectacular gingerbread houses and shops.

As Christmas fast approaches, Branson Globe readers were asked to share the traditions that make the holidays special for their individual families. 

Those attending are encouraged to dress in their most festive Christmas attire, and bring a sign promoting Branson and the Christmas season.

Local churches, organizations and businesses are represented at the parade, as are schools throughout the region.

This year, the Branson Christmas Coalition invites the entire community to participate in a very special kickoff to Ozark Mountain Christmas with the First Lights of Ozark Mountain Christmas & the Community Christmas Tree Lighting on November 1.

The City of Forsyth, the Forsyth Area Chamber of Commerce and the Lake Taneycomo Elks invite the community to join them on Saturday evening, November 1, for the celebratory Christmas Tree Lighting at Forsyth City Hall, 15405 U.S. Hwy. 160 in Forsyth.
