What does America's 250th birthday mean to you?

Write an essay and tell us, or write a poem expressing your thoughts. The very best submission by a student (or class), and by an adult will be published in the America 250 special section in the July 3 Branson Globe. Your essay or poem should be no more than 700 words. Deadline to submit your entry is the close of business on June 5. Use the form here to send us your entry, mail it to Branson Globe, P.O. Box 652, Hollister, MO 65673, or deliver it to 2460 S. Hwy. 65, Hollister, MO.

Who can enter:

Any reader of The Branson Globe, either online or in print, may enter an original essay or poem. Enter in one of two categories: Student (1st through 12th grade) or adult. School classes are welcome to enter in the student category. Branson Globe employees, contractors and family within their households are not eligible.

 

How to enter:

  • All submissions should be 700 words or less.

  • There are three ways to enter

    • Go to bransonglobe.com/america-250 and upload your entry

    • Mail your entry to the Branson Globe, P.O. Box 652, Hollister, MO 65673

    • Deliver your entry to the Globe at 2460 S. Hwy. 65, Hollister, MO

  • Entries may not be handwritten

  • Entries will not be returned, and become the property of the Branson Globe Newspaper, LLC

  • Entries will be accepted through close of business on June 5, 2026

 

Who can win:

Winning entries will express thoughts about America’s 250th birthday and why this is an event worth celebrating. One entry by a student or class, and one entry by an adult will be named our winners. Winners will be notified prior to publication.
