Veterans Appreciation Day coming soon

The Branson Veterans of America 913 are proud to sponsor the Veterans Appreciation Day again this year. This special annual Veterans Information Expo helps welcome veterans to the community, whether they are new arrivals or simply need information about available resources or encouragement and assistance in accessing those resources. This year’s Appreciation Day will be held on Saturday, September 26, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., at the Branson Events Center, 4230 Gretna Rd. in Branson. 

Admission is FREE, with veterans and their families especially invited; however, the event is also open to the public and everyone is invited to stop by and learn more, especially if you know a veteran who could benefit from the information. Representatives will be on hand from several veterans’ assistance and resource organizations, so this is a great opportunity for those who may not be aware of all the services available or how to obtain them. Another excellent learning opportunity will be a QPR Workshop (Question, Persuade, Refer), aimed at educating the public about suicide prevention, particularly among veteran populations. 

A catered lunch will be served, free to veterans and $10 for other attendees. There will also be food trucks, music and a variety of children’s activities. 

Always a highlight of the Veterans Appreciation Day is the Car Show. Entry cost is $30 and registration starts at 9 a.m. for entry/judging in several classes for both cars and trucks: 

• Pre-WWII era (pre-1941) 

• WWII era (1941-1949) 

• Korean era (1950-1959) 

• Vietnam era (1960-1975) 

• Grenada era (1980-1989) 

• Gulf era (1990-1999) 

• Afghanistan era (2000-2021) 

• Military vehicle 

• People’s choice
