If you saw Walmart trucks rolling down 76 Country Boulevard recently, accompanied by a police escort, you witnessed a very special event.

Taney County resident Ruby Tyler was recognized by the Walmart Heart Program during a very touching ceremony. Ruby, a young girl with a rare genetic disorder, was recognized for her strength, courage and resilience.
The Walmart Heart Program was founded in 2006 by a group of Walmart truck drivers who wanted to help others and make a difference for children across the nation. The drivers banded together to launch a program to support sick and special needs children, recognizing them as honorary Walmart truck drivers. The program is entirely volunteer-based and operated on donations, yet thousands of drivers have participated through the years, honoring children throughout the country.
Ruby Tyler, who was joined by her family, was presented with an honorary Walmart driver shirt and enjoyed a special truck ride through Branson.
Members of the Branson Police Department, the Taney County Sheriff's Department, and Missouri State Highway Parole were on hand to help make the event run smoothly and safely.
