Veterans Homecoming Week opening celebration November 5

The 2025 opening celebration of Veterans Homecoming Week will be held on November 5 at 10 a.m. on the campus of College of the Ozark’s Patriots Park. The program will begin with a welcome address by Brigadier General James Schreffler, Vice President of Patriotic Activities and the Assistant Adjutant General Missouri Army National Guard.
Following will be the posting of the colors by the Branson Veterans of America 913 Honor Guard; invocation by Gabriella Adair, C of O Junior; Pledge by Emily Winter, C of O Junior; and the National Anthem by Cassandre Haygood. Bob Smither, representing the City of Branson, will read Mayor Larry Milton’s proclamation proclaiming Branson as the most “Patriotic City” in America. Our keynote address this year is by Brigadier General Bradley A. Leonard, Deputy Commander General, Support of the 35th Infantry Division.
Cassandre Haygood will perform “God Bless America” followed by a wreath laying ceremony, rifle volley by the Branson Veterans of America 913 Honor Guard and Taps played by Sergeant Major (E9) Bob Smither, U.S. Army, Retired. “Proud to be an American” will be performed by Derrick Bertram, and benediction by Gabriella Adair, C of O Junior.
