Two new children's books debuted in double book launch

Branson businesswoman-turned-author debuted two new children's books last week in a spectacular book launch.

Angie Harris, the brain behind the beloved "Finding Fred" books, showcased her latest in the "Finding Fred" series. Set in Branson, "Finding Fred Takes Center Stage" follows Fred as he travels with his choir to Branson and discovers his love for the stage.

The second book debuted by Harris was entitled "Why is the Bank Closed?" and explains the significance of Veterans Day and why we honor our nation's veterans. The release of "Why is the Bank Closed?" just before Veterans Day was very timely.

Harris' book launch included fun activities for children and families, photo opportunities, chance to meet the author and illustrator, and the opportunity to meet one of the characters in some of Harris' books, Papa.

The exciting event also included readings of Harris' books by some familiar faces—and voices—in Branson, including Janet Ellis, Heather Hermen, Josh Clark, Denver Brown, Jamie Hunt and Branson Police Chief Eric Schmitt.

Harris gave thanks to her editor, publisher, family and friends and all who helped make the event such an overwhelming success.

Harris added, "Thank you to Branson's IMAX Entertainment Complex for hosting and being so gracious and accommodating, and to Branson Bank and the Branson Chamber and CVB for helping create 'Why is the Bank Closed?' Also, to my Stone Castle Hotel and Conference Center family for the support to make 'Finding Fred Takes Center Stage' come to be, as well as sharing swords."
