Table Rock Art Guild showcases area students at annual art festival - BY CYNTHIA J. THOMAS
Table Rock Art Guild members invite the community to visit the Table Rock Art Gallery March 26 through 28, for the 42nd annual Children’s Art Show. The Gallery is located at Claybough Plaza, 11016 St. Hwy. 76 in Branson West.
Each year, the Gallery artists remove their art from their display areas to make room for more than 200 pieces of children’s artwork from elementary schools in Taney and Stone counties. Local art teachers receive a stipend from the Guild to provide art supplies for the students to create their pieces. Guild members then collect the artwork, mat each piece and prepare the displays. The three-day display culminates with a reception to be held Saturday afternoon, March 28, with refreshments and craft activities for the entire family to enjoy.
Over the past few years, the event has drawn at least 400 attendees, helping fulfill one of the Guild’s primary purposes, to promote the advancement of art around the local area and communities. This year’s event highlights work from 13 area schools, one piece per art class, for a total of 222 pieces of art.
The Table Rock Art Guild was organized in 1980. In addition to promoting the advancement of art, the Guild helps acquaint art-oriented people with others and encourages members to further their talents, as well as promoting and sponsoring art fairs, exhibits and sales. Learn more by stopping by the Gallery or visiting https://www.tablerockartgallery.com.
Gallery hours are Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Saturday, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
