One of Branson's recovery programs is on a mission to help their clients provide Christmas gifts for their children.
Standing by the Door offers a long-term recovery program and classes for men and women who are struggling with addiction to alcohol and drugs. Many of the clients of Standing by the Door have young children at home who are being cared for by family or friends.
This year, Standing by the Door announces Christmas Wishes, a program to help provide Christmas gifts for those children.
Each of the houses in the Standing by the Door program will receive blank wish lists so that parents can write down the gifts they would like to give their children for Christmas. For many of the clients of Standing by the Door, it is the first time they have had the opportunity to think about Christmas from a place of recovery, hope and restoration.
Once the parents have filled out their wish lists, members of the community are invited to step up to make those Christmas wishes a reality, by adopting a Standing by the Door client's wish list and purchasing gifts for his or her children, making a financial contribution or volunteering to help wrap and deliver gifts.
Your donations, help and involvement will offer hope, love and lasting change for Standing by the Door families.
Financial donations and gift items may be dropped off at Standing by the Door, 704 South Veterans Boulevard in Branson between the hours of 9 a.m. and 7 p.m. For more information, call 417-685-9485.
