Alan Osmond, the oldest member of the sibling musical group The Osmonds, has passed away at the age of 76.

Osmond began performing with his brothers at the young age of 12. Their musical career began with Alan, Wayne, Merrill and Jay performing as a barbershop quartet. Later, the group expanded to include brothers Donny and Jay. The group found fame as youngsters, following appearances on a popular television show starring musical great Andy Williams. The Osmonds Brothers—minus Donny— performed for many years in Branson. Their show was very popular among the many motorcoach groups and individuals who traveled to the music mecca of Branson, anxious to see and hear the talented vocalists.
Alan Osmond was also a songwriter, who co-wrote some of the group's biggest songs, including "One Bad Apple" and "Crazy Horses."
Osmond, who was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in the late 1980s, was surrounded by his wife, Suzanne, and his eight sons at the time of his passing. He is also survived by 30 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
