House of Hope kicks off fundraiser ahead of winter

Temperatures are still reaching into the 90s most days, yet the staff and volunteers at Branson's House of Hope have winter on their minds. When winter weather arrives, the House of Hope's Cooling Center becomes a Warming Center, providing overnight respite from the bitter cold for anyone in need.  

The costs of operating a Warming Center continue to increase each year, and because of that, House of Hope is again kicking off their Adopt a Cot program.

This winter will mark the sixth year that House of Hope has operated a Warming Center. On any night that the Branson temperature is predicted to drop to 32 degrees or below, the Warming Center opens to offer a safe place for men, women and families to sleep in warmth. Guests will also receive a warm meal, access to laundry facilities and showers, resources to help them in areas of need, and a sense of community and belonging.

This year House of Hope is asking families, businesses, churches and individuals to generously help sponsor a cot with a minimum donation of just $100. Your donation will offset the cost of operating the Warming Center and allow House of Hope to continue offering vital services on the coldest of nights. Those costs include utility expenses, food costs, additional client needs and related support.
