Area artisans and crafters outdid themselves again this year with three days of amazing art, one-of-a-kind gifts and every imaginable kind of décor, at the Shepherd’s Fall Craft Fair. Hosted at the beautiful Shepherd of the Hills Outdoor Homestead, the event is becoming a regional favorite, featuring live music as well as delicious food from local area food trucks in addition to the park’s onsite restaurants.
“This fair gets better every year,” stated one artist. “It’s such a great family atmosphere, too, with the activities for the kids.” The fair is also educational, with several artists working right at their booths creating pottery, etching, painting, beautiful fall wreaths, and much more. And even though the fair has grown, the beautiful park setting still offers plenty of places to relax in the shade; several guests were also enjoying local history inside the historic cabin, post office and other points of interest around the homestead.
The fall fun is just beginning at the Shepherd of the Hills, with the Shepherd’s PumpkinFest season opening September 20 and continuing through October 26. Your family can enjoy hayrides, picking out and painting pumpkins, and even the chance to make a scarecrow. The ticket includes entry to the farm’s many activities, including kids’ play areas and mini golf, as well as the Inspiration Tower and Rope Bridges.
