Sanders receives Lifetime Achievement Award

Branson's Song of Hope movement presented a Comedy Collective Lifetime Achievement Award to one of the area's favorite funny men, Terry Wayne Sanders.

Sanders is known for such characters as Terry the Tour Guide, Grandma Beulah, Homer Lee, Joan Rivers, Alex the Time Traveler, Mr. M. Balmer and many others.

Sanders was presented the award during The Upside with Josh and Them, the morning show on KRZK, 106.3 FM, on what was already a historic day in our community, the day set aside to honor the Branson Legend Shad Heller.

Marshall Howden, founder of Branson's Song of Hope, presented the award to Sanders, noting, "Terry Sanders is the quintessential Ozarks performer. He is our Wizard of Oz, our Mark Twain and our Homer Lee all wrapped up in one costume changing body."

Sanders, who has graced the stages of many Branson venues throughout the years, currently entertains the masses at Silver Dollar City and is the resident comedian for CJ Newsom's Classic Country and Comedy Show, as well as making appearances at countless community and regional events.

Sanders was the third artist honored with the Comedy Collective Lifetime Achievement Award. The first two awards were presented to Jerl Adams, known as Hargus Marcel, and Time Mabe, who portrays Droopy Drawers.

Said Sanders, "Thank you from the bottom of my heart, Marshall, for this incredible Lifetime Achievement Award. I am so humbled and honored."
