Round table discussion gives pointers to small business owners

Dozens of small business owners gathered at the Branson Chamber of Commerce and CVB to participate in a lunch and learn and round table discussion. Businesses of all types were represented, as industry professionals in the area of banking, finance, insurance and legal affairs shared some of the best practices for establishing and maintaining a successful small business.

The Round Table Discussion, sponsored by Branson Bank, Grimwood and Fenton Attorneys at Law and Ollis, Akers and Arney Insurance and Business Advisors, was moderated by Josh Grisham of My 100.6, one of the Ozarks Dynacom's family of radio stations.

Panelists for The Prepared Life event included Nicholas Grimwood, Attorney at Law from the firm of Fenton and Grimwood; Matt Baker, CPA and Financial Advisor with Branson Bank and Ameriprise Financial; Greg Baker, Commercial Lender with Branson Bank; Norma Desrochers, Senior Business Relationship Banker with Branson Bank; and Derik Frederiksen, Advisor and Risk Management Specialist with Ollis, Akers and Arney Insurance and Business Advisors.

The panel gave the audience pointers on starting a small business. They addressed such topics as Building a Strong Foundation, How Should a Business Reinvest in His or Her Business? What Types of Loans are Available for a Small Business, and other topics of interest to the attendees.

The panelists were also given questions on topics specific to his or her industry, such as Building Retirement and Assets, The Right Time for a Business to Grow, Risk Management and Fraud Protection.
