Rockefeller-type tree escorted to Silver Dollar City

ree

Spectators lined 76 Country Boulevard on Saturday morning to catch a glimpse of a unique sight. Silver Dollar City's Rockefeller-inspired Christmas tree, escorted by emergency vehicles and Pink Jeeps carrying a variety of favorite Christmas characters, made its way up the famous 76 Strip towards its new home.

Grown in Oregon and selected because of its beauty, the white Shasta Fir Tree stands 44 feet tall. The 30-year-old tree was carefully cut and transported to the Ozarks where it will spend the Christmas season at the Silver Dollar City theme park.

The live Christmas tree, known as The Grand Fir, will be adorned with 30,000 festive lights and displayed in the Plaza, where it will be featured in three lighting ceremonies each night. The lighting ceremonies are a new addition to this year's Christmas celebration, adding another element to the holiday fun.

Silver Dollar City celebrates An Old Time Christmas from November 1 to January 4.
