An annual favorite returned to the Southern Missouri Art Connection’s (SMAC)Hollister gallery on Oct. 2.

The 7th Annual Post-it-Note, 3x3 Art Show and SMAC Fundraising Art exhibit opened at the SMAC gallery, located at 7 Downing Street in Hollister. This event invites any artist of any age and skill level to produce 3x3-inch art to be showcased for the month of October each year. All the art is sold for $5, with half going to the artist and half going to help fund SMAC throughout the year.

This year saw many new and returning artists exhibiting their work. The works of art are displayed on the walls of the gallery. Those interested in purchasing pieces were allowed to buy straight off the wall during the opening night and will continue to be able to purchase the tiny art throughout the month of October.

Local artist Finn Erickson said this exhibit is one a favorite of many of the artists. “It is always fun to see what everyone comes up with,” Erickson said.

Artist Anthony Hunter, who also had pieces at the exhibit said it is always a crowd pleaser. “It is one of my favorite SMAC events each year,” Hunter said.

According to the SMAC website, the art center is open Monday noon to 4 p.m.; Tuesday noon to 6 p.m.; Wednesday through Friday 12:30 to 5 p.m.; and Saturday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The center also offers a variety of art classes throughout each month. For more information visit www.smac-art.org.
