It’s that time of year again—time to “Fall in Love with Gardening” at the 2026 Master Gardeners of the Ozarks Fall Workshop. Whether you’re finishing up canning and freezing this year’s bounty, feeling sad about the effects of the extreme heat, or thinking about planting a fall crop, you’re sure to find some great suggestions and fellowship on Saturday, September 12, at New Testament Christian Church, 21016 Main St. in Reeds Spring.
There are some great speakers scheduled to address several timely topics:
“Right Plant, Right Place” by Anne Wildeboor, Horticulture Supervisor, Arboretum and Botanical Gardens, Overland Park, KS;
“Climate and Weather Patterns that Influence Conditions in the Ozarks” by Benjamin Price, NWS Meteorologist;
“Alpha-Gal Syndrome: An Overview for Missouri Communities on Tick-Bite Prevention” by Eden Stuart, Nutrition and Health Specialist, MU Extension Newton County;
“Tomatoes Past and Present” by Micah Humphreys, Associate Professor of Agriculture, College of the Ozarks
The day gets underway with continental breakfast at 8:30 and time to browse the always-popular Marketplace, vendor booths and silent auction items. Programs begin at 9:30, with a break for lunch by Lillee’s Catering before wrapping up at 2:30 p.m.
Seats are filling up fast, so head to https://mgozarks.org/fall-workshop/ to register online or access the mail-in form. Also, please note that the Master Gardeners and most of the vendors do not accept credit cards at the workshop, so bring cash or check for your purchases.
