A marketing agreement between Branson and the Kansas City Chiefs football team is coming to an end, a mutual decision between the entities.
The multi-year and multi-million-dollar agreement between the City of Branson, and the Branson/Lakes Area Tourism Community Enhancement District and the Chiefs that advertised Branson and the Lakes Area as the Official Vacation Destination of the Kansas City Chiefs began in 2023. The unique partnership gave Branson and the Lakes Area an opportunity to be showcased in front of a much broader audience, encouraging not only new visitors to the area, but also repeat guests.
The three-year agreement featured Branson on a billboard inside Arrowhead Stadium, visible during each Chiefs home game, and reaching an average of 70,000 spectators per game. Branson served as the sponsor for the team's Hometown Hero program, honoring Missouri veterans, military men and women and essential workers. Additionally, the Branson destination was marketed at a number of tailgating parties, pep rallies and other events, showcasing all that Branson and the surrounding area has to offer. The Branson area was also featured in digital marketing, which received millions of website views.
Branson hosted the Kansas City Chiefs Cheer Team for cheer training camps and trips throughout the course of the agreement, as well. It was on one of those trips that the cheer team leaders enjoyed the music of The Haygoods, which ultimately led to the musical group of talented siblings performing the National Anthem at a 2024 Chiefs home game.
The marketing partnership is set to expire on May 15, 2026, with no plans for renewal.
