Local author releases two more children’s books

Branson businesswoman and author Angie Harris is celebrating the release of two new books.

Harris invites friends and fans to join her for a book release party for her two latest children's books: "Finding Fred Takes Center Stage" and "Why is the Bank Closed?"

In Harris' "Finding Fred Takes Center Stage," readers will follow the beloved character Finding Fred as he and his school choir travel to Branson. The book "Why is the Bank Closed?" features Papa and Baby Duck discussing Veterans Day, what it means to be a veteran and many symbols of respect.

Harris' book launch will be held at the IMAX Entertainment Complex and will include treasure hunts, balloons, photo ops and a story time featuring some well-known Branson faces.

Branson Bank, featured on the cover of "Why is the Bank Closed?", serves as a sponsor for the book launch and will be on hand with their famous chocolate chip cookies. The Branson/Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce and CVB are also partnering with Harris on the event.

Harris has also planned a "Follow the Story Passport Trail," complete with themed activities based on the books, giveaways and more.

The book launch is set for Saturday, November 1, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the IMAX Entertainment Complex, 3562 Shepherd of the Hills Expressway. The event is free to the public. It promises to be fun for both adults and children, educational and a celebration of American values.
