A Branson event raised money for a local ministry that helps people across the country—and right here in Branson.
Jammin' for Jesus held their April concert on Sunday. As always with the Jammin' for Jesus concerts, there was no admission charge, but donations were accepted for a local nonprofit. The beneficiary of this month's event was Chapelwoods, founded by Bud and Lynda Lynn.
Chapelwoods plants small chapels throughout the Ozarks and across the country, often near walking trails, where people can visit, worship and connect with God. Lynda Lynn likes to say they are "Little chapels making a big difference."
Performing at Sunday's concert was The Harmony Trio, Bev and Wendell Johnson, Gary Dooms, Bruno Samuels and Bud and Lynda Lynn. Sheila Meeker and Brian Pendergrass, who hosted the concert, also performed.
The audience enjoyed watching a video of a KOLR 10 interview with Bud and Lynda Lynn showing the chapels built to date. Matt Grindstaff, VP of Strategic Partnership at Elevate Branson. also spoke to the crowd, sharing information on the tiny homes that are making their way to Branson—Elevate Community—and noting that the latest Chapelwoods will be built on the land, near the homes.
The concert brought in more than $1,260 for Chapelwoods.
"This certainly gives us our first footing to buy materials," said Lynda Lynn. "We want to thank the Hughes Family and their sound crew for the use of their theatre. A special shoutout to Blake Fogle, a wonderful engineer, and his team; Sheila Meeker and Brian Pendergrass, the Jammin' for Jesus hosts; and all the folks who attended and gave donations. The attendance was good. Jammin' for Jesus concerts have a regular fan base. It was a great time singing for our Lord."
