Hillcrofters hold third annual book bazaar

The Society of Ozarkian Hillcrofters held their annual book bazaar at the Bonniebrook Museum located at 485 Rose Oneil Road in Walnut Shade, on Saturday, October 25. The Museum was a great host property! They decorated the entire place, plus provided drinks and cookies for the guests. It was pretty and delicious.

Bonniebrook had their last open day for the season, and there were several people that took tours of the home place and visited their gift shop. Many people in attendance stated it was their first time to be at the home place, and they were pleasantly impressed!

One hundred plus people were in attendance throughout the day. Even though it was a rainy, drizzly day, everyone definitely enjoyed themselves. The authors featured have written and published their books about our local history of the Ozarks.

Authors who participated were Todd Parnell, Tom Koob, Tom Peters, Kaitlyn McConnell, Larry Sifford, Hayden Head, Curtis Copeland, Alex Primm, Jan Bailey, Dayna Ault and Lorrie Brown.

Book dealers who participated were Roger Fortner and Patty Frisbee.

Music was provided throughout the afternoon by Dennis Pritchard, David Warren, Cathy Warren, Kenneth Stutts, Rex Brooker and Mark Ballantyne.

Everyone is looking forward to the fourth annual book bazaar next year.

The Society of Ozarkian Hillcrofters takes part in many historical local events and fundraisers. If you are interested in helping preserve the Ozarks' local history and volunteering at fun events, they invite anyone to join and participate.
