Shoals Bend Park in Forsyth was filled with activity on Saturday, October 3, as residents of Forsyth and surrounding communities enjoyed the Harvest Moon Festival. The annual fall celebration, organized and sponsored by the Forsyth Area Chamber of Commerce, features contests, games, a variety of vendors, resources and information from area agencies and nonprofits, and a popular car show.

Some of the participating groups and competitions included—

●      Art Battle sponsored by Taney County Shrine Club

●      Bingo

●      Pet show

●      Karaoke

●      Multiple school choirs

●      Donut contest

●      3-D Archery competition sponsored by Shiloh Archery

●      Garden tractor pull

●      Forsyth Fire Department providing valuable prevention information and a bounce house for the kids

This year’s car show was sponsored by 76 Automotive and Long Beach Auto Body. The show also included raffle items to raise funds for the Veterans of the Ozarks, to help with the group’s mission of assisting other veterans in times of need.

Other fundraisers were also held to benefit nonprofit organizations providing valuable services. The Dunk Tank was popular as several volunteers splashed into the water to benefit the Citizens Academy; and at the De-Escalation Center, a Police Department fundraiser, allowed attendees to take a swing at smashing a car.

Thanks to all the dedicated Chamber members and leadership who invested a tremendous amount of time and energy to make Harvest Moon Festival a fun day for all! Check the Forsyth Area Chamber page on Facebook for updates on community events through the holiday season.
