Forsyth graduate finds success, satisfaction in film projects

Growing up in the Forsyth community, Noah Beyer doesn’t remember not being interested in film-making and videography. Last weekend, that interest was still alive and well as Beyer gathered with cast, crew and family at the Taney Center on Hwy. 76 east of Forsyth, to film an episode of his latest project, “Red Hood Resurrection.”

The venue was creatively transformed into sets ranging from a Bat-Mobile to fight scenes, with Beyer serving as director and videographer to capture those sets in exciting perspective.

With family members also interested in video, it was natural for Noah to pursue his interest and talent. As a young teen, he highlighted that as one of a handwritten list of goals. His mom, Viola Beyer of Forsyth, took a photograph of that list, which still inspires fond memories on her part and serves as a reminder for Noah of his family’s and community’s support toward those goals.

After graduating from Forsyth in 2021, Noah studied business at Ozarks Technical Community College while simultaneously studying videography with his brother. He also started his own wedding videography venture which has received several awards, including one from wedding website “The Knot.”

Beyer describes himself as largely self-taught, with considerable time spent carefully studying the works of different directors and cinematographers in Hollywood. He then figures out ways to replicate the most impactful and effective techniques he sees in their work, while simultaneously putting his own spin on their styles to best communicate his own ideas.

“Noah always seemed to have a natural eye for videography,” said Richard Voliva, who teaches English at Forsyth and is the faculty coordinator for “The Prowler,” the school’s weekly video digest for which Noah served as editor from 2018 to 2021. “I just tried to give him opportunities to explore aspects of editing and try some special projects.”

Those projects included a documentary of the Forsyth High School Forestry team’s trip to national competition, with Beyer using gyroscope technology acquired by the school to help enrich such student productions. “As a student, he displayed the rare combination of a creative imagination along with being goal-oriented,” said Voliva of Beyer’s eagerness to explore new technology and techniques.

Noah also enjoyed theater during his school years, at school and through the regional arts community, and was involved in tech and media at Branson’s Bloom Church. It was while working on some projects at Bloom that Noah met David Michael Reardon, a Hollister High School graduate now pursuing acting in Hollywood with regular appearances for Netflix and Paramount, among others. Reardon plays the lead role of Jason Todd in “Red Hood Resurrection.” Another actor, Jackson Trent, got involved in Beyer’s project after connecting with Reardon during production of the faith-based film, “Running the Bases,” filmed and produced in Harrison, Arkansas.

“Red Hood Resurrection” is an independent fan-made production by Beyer Creative, LLC, drawing from familiar series themes. Incorporating vengeance, identity and redemption, the series provides artistic and entertaining enjoyment for fans, within applicable intellectual property parameters, and has been extremely popular with a growing YouTube audience. Each episode features high-intensity visuals, specialized stunt work and creative sound design.

In addition to Reardon, Trent, and several other professional actors, Beyer, who now hails from Bentonville, Arkansas, has plenty of support from local family and friends: His wife, Lauren, combines her sewing skills with Noah’s 3D printing designs to produce costumes or to customize purchased ones; his mom and sister have been on hand during the filming to help however they can; and local film-fighting pro Bob Goodwin has provided advice about stunts and  weaponry for some episodes in the series.

The “Red Hood Resurrection” series can be accessed via YouTube, with Season One comprising several episodes released in 2024 and 2025. The recent filming will create the Season One finale, with a Season Two “teaser” poised for December release. We wish Noah the best for continued success in pursuing his passion and talents!
