Fellowship and a haircut: Cuts 4 Seniors and time together

An area nonprofit committed to the wellbeing of senior citizens in the southwest Missouri Ozarks is excited to share about their newest summer program. In June, 4OzarksSeniors kicked off Cuts 4 Seniors, with a licensed cosmetologist/instructor providing free haircuts to anyone age 60 and above.

The haircuts are available from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month, at the 4OzarksSeniors facility, 22188 Main St. in downtown Reeds Spring. A huge thanks to cosmetologist Jarrod Smith, who is volunteering his time to help our area seniors! Although walk-ins are welcome, appointments will be prioritized; call 417-559-3099 to schedule.

Along with the free haircut dates, 4OzarksSeniors is also offering a new Time Together 4 Seniors program. This is a FREE session for senior citizens to bond and relax while enjoying snacks and custom coffee concoctions, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the second and fourth Tuesdays and 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. on the first and third Mondays, offering a weekly opportunity for those 60 and older to get out and socialize and have fun. Thanks to OurStoneCounty.org for their funding partnership in this initiative.

Addressing the problem of isolation and loneliness has proven benefits for senior citizens, many of whom are not sure how to interact after losing a long-time spouse, family moving out of the area, the onset of health issues and other challenges. It’s all part of the mission of 4OzarksSeniors to serve area senior citizens and help connect them to resources and services they need.
