On Saturday, November 15, the area Prayer/Action Chapter of Concerned Women for America gathered for a luncheon fellowship with members and staff advisors of the College of the Ozarks chapter of Young Women for America.
The meeting, hosted at the home of CWA member and former state director Joey Davis of Branson, was a wonderful opportunity for mutual encouragement. Attendees brought delicious items to contribute for lunch, with time for mingling and getting acquainted. A “thankfulness” game led to sharing about special memories, inspirational people, skills and talents and more, for which attendees were thankful.

The day’s devotional centered around the importance of mentorship, listening and learning from one another. Older members were inspired by hearing about the college women’s studies and future plans; C of O and these young women are a beacon of light and a reminder that God is at work in this generation, in spite of the amount of negative news about college campuses. The young women, in turn, expressed their gratitude for the prayers, experience and wisdom of the CWA members and other influential people in their lives.
As the meeting drew to a close, those present were already looking forward to the next opportunity to get together. Many also said they were inspired to suggest more ways generations can interact in our communities and civic groups, and especially in our churches.
The Concerned Women for America Prayer/Action Chapter meets at 10 a.m. the third Tuesday of each month at Covenant Life Church, 120 N. 3rd St. in Branson. Meetings include prayer for communities and federal, state and local officials; and many also include a legislative update or a presentation from a local nonprofit or ministry.
