Crane Pool receives ADA lift, announces adaptive scuba partnership

The Crane Pool is celebrating a generous gift that will help make swimming more accessible and inclusive for members of the community.

LifeWaters, a Missouri-based nonprofit dedicated to providing adaptive scuba diving experiences for Veterans and individuals with disabilities, has donated a new ADA pool lift to the Crane Pool. The equipment will allow individuals with disabilities to safely enter and enjoy the pool alongside their family members and friends.

For the Crane Pool, the donation represents much more than a new piece of equipment. It is an investment in inclusion and an opportunity to ensure that everyone in the community has the chance to experience the fun and enjoyment of swimming.

“We are incredibly honored and grateful to LifeWaters, their dedicated board of directors, and everyone involved in their organization for their generous support of our community,” Crane Pool representatives said.

The new lift will help remove barriers that can prevent individuals with disabilities from participating in activities at the pool. By providing accessible entry into the water, the equipment creates opportunities for individuals and families to enjoy time together during the summer.

The partnership between the Crane Pool and LifeWaters will extend beyond the new pool lift. Next summer, the organizations plan to offer Adaptive Scuba Diving experiences at the Crane Pool for individuals with disabilities and veterans.

LifeWaters works to change lives through adaptive scuba diving, focusing on adventure, confidence, healing and community. Through specially trained volunteers, the organization provides safe and supportive experiences designed to help participants discover new possibilities and build confidence. The upcoming adaptive scuba diving program will give participants an opportunity to experience the water in a new way while surrounded by trained volunteers and a supportive community.

For the Crane community, the partnership is another example of how local organizations and nonprofits can work together to create opportunities for everyone.
