House of Hope, Branson's warming center, has been working diligently to help those who are unhoused or in need of a warm place to stay during the recent winter weather.
House of Hope opens any night that temperatures are forecasted to drop to 32 degrees or below overnight. Due to extreme cold, combined with snow, House of Hope opened their doors 19 nights in a row in January. On three of those days they remained open around the clock.
On a typical night, House of Hope opens at 6 p.m., offering those families and individuals who stay a delicious dinner. Guests at House of Hope are given the opportunity to shower, wash clothes, watch television, enjoy snacks and sleep soundly in a warm and safe environment. Breakfast is served the following morning before guests depart for the day.
During the times that House of Hope remains open 24 hours a day, that means even more meals, beverages and snacks that the nonprofit provides to their guests. House of Hope appreciates any donations that the community can offer. Donations of individually packaged snack items and beverages are in high demand, as are cash donations. Donations can be dropped off at House of Hope, 217 Veterans Boulevard in Branson, or mailed to House of Hope, P.O. Box 6534, Branson, MO 65615.
House of Hope is very appreciative of the community support they receive from local businesses, churches, other nonprofits and individuals who continue to support House of Hope by providing meals, donating necessities, volunteering their time or offering financial contributions. Thanks to your help, House of Hope continues to provide those in need in the Branson area with shelter during the harsh winter, a warm meal when they need it most and a sense of community, always.
