The Missouri Institute of Cooperatives established the Cooperative Hall of Fame to provide a lasting and prestigious recognition for individuals who have made significant contributions to the cooperative movement. This honor ensures that future generations of cooperative leaders can look to these exemplary individuals as models of dedication, service and achievement.

A lifelong advocate for cooperative values, Hamon has dedicated more than 40 years to serving WRVEC and its members. Under his leadership as CEO since 1999, the cooperative has experienced transformative growth and modernization while remaining rooted in its mission of member service. His vision led to the creation of White River Connect, a broadband subsidiary delivering high-speed internet to rural communities - a modern extension of rural electrification that continues to improve quality of life across southern Missouri.

“I’ve always believed the cooperative’s purpose goes beyond providing electricity - it’s about improving the quality of life for the people who call this region home,” said Hamon. “It’s an incredible honor to be recognized by peers who share that same commitment to service.”

Through this recognition, the MIC preserves the legacy of these influential leaders, inspiring current and future cooperative professionals to continue their mission of collaboration, integrity and shared success.

Hamon’s induction into the MIC Hall of Fame recognizes his lasting contributions to the cooperative network, his dedication to innovation and member service, and his unwavering belief in the power of cooperation to change lives.
