The Missouri Legislature recently adjourned Sine Die for the 2026 legislative session. Rep. Brian Seitz, R-Branson, celebrated a successful session after achieving meaningful wins for the 156th District.

"I believe this session is one of the most successful I have had since joining the House in 2021, and we were able to achieve a lot of hard fought victories for the 156th District and the entire state," Seitz said. "From tourism funding to infrastructure projects, from protecting small businesses to protecting the unborn, I truly believe our area came out on top this year."
Seitz highlighted several specific accomplishments including:
· Helping to secure full funding for the Missouri Tourism Budget
· Securing funding for a water infrastructure project in Hollister, MO
· Protecting children born alive after abortion attempts with the Born Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act
· Requiring background checks for overnight camp counselors
· Reestablishing the Missouri Tourism Supplemental Revenue Fund
· Protecting small businesses by passing the Act Against Abusive Website Access Litigation
"A major reason for this year's success is the relationships I have built with my colleagues," Seitz said. "I especially want to highlight the work I accomplished in coordination with Sen. Brad Hudson. It is refreshing to have someone on the Senate side with whom I can partner on legislation and who will advocate for our area just as fiercely as I do. We co-sponsored several bills together, many of which reached the governor's desk. As always, it was an honor to serve the district this year, and I look forward to much more success over my final two years in office."
After the Missouri Legislature adjourned Sine Die recently, Sen. Brad Hudson, R-Cape Fair, reflected on a successful session.

“This year was extremely productive, both in actual legislation passed to the governor, and through continued conversations about bills we hope to pass next year,” Hudson said. “I think too often people measure success with an ‘all or nothing’ mentality, but in government that can never be the benchmark. We passed a lot of good bills, helped cut the budget and made sure funding was going to the appropriate places and overall had some big wins for the district and the state.”
Highlights of Hudson’s accomplishments this session include:
Passage of the Born Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act which requires that children born alive after an abortive attempt be given the same medical care of any child born at the same gestational age
Passage of the Act Against Abusive Website Access Litigation to protect Missouri small businesses from predatory lawsuits
Reestablishing the Missouri Tourism Supplemental Revenue Fund and securing full funding for tourism in the budget, including $5M earmarked for local chambers across the state
Passage of legislation providing clarity about the filing of series LLCs with the Secretary of State’s office
Securing funding in the budget for infrastructure projects across the district, while also maintaining cuts to overall spending compared to last year
“We did not get everything done that we set out to accomplish, but we got a lot of our priorities across the finish line,” Hudson said. “Next year I plan to refile a number of bills that I want to continue working on, including legislation to remove the sunset from the SAFE Act and permanently protect our kids from transgender drugs and surgeries, removing the sunset on the Save Women’s Sports Act to protect our girls’ athletic opportunities from biological men, creating the SPEAKS Act to protect our kids’ First Amendment rights in K-12 and extending the statute of limitations for victims of childhood sexual abuse to sue their perpetrators and the third parties that enabled the abuse. There will never be a year where you pass every bill you file, but I plan to keep working just as diligently next year on the priorities of the people of Senate District 33 as I did this year. It was a great session, and there is a lot more success to come.”
