The Reza Live Theatre hosted a well-known television personality over the weekend for a unique live show.
Abby Lee Miller, star of Lifetime's hit series Dance Moms, entertained audiences in a special one-night show. More than just a show, Abby Lee Miller Live! At the Top of the Pyramid was a one-of-a-kind experience for fans, dancers and dance parents, too.
Miller, a professional dance instructor and choreographer, starred in the popular reality show “Dance Moms” from 2011 to 2019, following young dancers who trained at Miller's Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, dance company, as well as their mothers. The show followed the dancers each week as they spent time learning new choreography, rehearsing and competing, while their mothers observed. A focal point of each show was Miller critiquing the dancers' most recent performances and ranking them on a pyramid.
The success of Dance Moms led Miller to two spin-off shows, Abby's Ultimate Dance Competition and the lesser known Abby's Studio Rescue.
Best known for her often over-the-top personality and legendary dance coaching, Miller was credited with helping many dancers from her studio reach success as dancers and entertainers.
Miller's Branson stop featured her sharing behind-the-scenes stories from the television shows, career highlights and many personal insights from her years of experience in competitive dance. The evening also gave fans an opportunity to visit Miller backstage. participate in a special meet and greet and enjoy some one-on-one time with Abby Lee Miller.
A highlight of the Saturday evening show, much of which was interactive, was a segment known as On Stage with Abby Lee: The Pyramid Challenge, where a limited number of dancers were given the unforgettable opportunity to share the stage with Miller.
Though Miller sold her Pittsburgh Dance Studio, she still teaches dance, primarily through virtual master classes. She also makes many live appearances at conventions and events across the country each year.
