For many people approaching their senior years, declining memory is a primary concern. Whether you’ve noticed it yourself as you navigate daily life, or perhaps are a caregiver watching it happen to an elderly parent or other loved one, it is a frequent reality, estimated to affect at least 1 in 10 Americans. The good news, though, is that there is a proven way to help!
On Wednesday, June 10, Kimberling Area Library and Senior Age will present “Introducing Stronger Memory” as part of the Learning on Wednesday series. Participants in this breakthrough program for better brain health report improved ability to focus, find misplaced items and remember conversations.
The Stronger Memory system has been developed by Goodwin Living Foundation, inspired by the director’s concerns for his own mother and his realization that just a few minutes a day can make a huge difference. Just 20 to 30 minutes daily of reading aloud, writing by hand, and doing simple math can strengthen memory, help prevent memory loss and even help restore memory skills.
