P.O.W. Network to host fundraiser for Veterans Week events

The P.O.W. Network invites the community to join them for a benefit concert to be held on June 12, starting at 2 p.m., at The Showroom at Branson Meadows. Funds raised at the concert will help fund special events held during Branson’s Veterans Homecoming Week, to keep those events FREE for all veterans to attend.

Some of the great performances you’ll experience include these:

●      Garth Brooks Tribute

●      Adam Webster

●      Matthew Boyce

●      Kenny Rogers Tribute

●      Johnny Cash & Friends Tribute

●      Josh & Hilary Carroll

For the past 30 years, the P.O.W. Network has played an important part in hosting numerous events during Veterans Week, held Nov. 5-11 each year. Last year, at eight different functions, the Network helped feed 1,200 vets and their loved ones for free; provided entertainment and door prizes; hosted a formal gala with 500 attendees enjoying fireworks, dining and dancing; and partnering with Walmart for a closing show and lunch for over 1,500. The 2026 activities will sadly say goodbye to the World War II reunion event, as few are physically able to attend, but will add an additional one for younger veterans.

A less-visible but highly important and appreciated part of the P.O.W. Network’s service for over 36 years has been to track the P.O.W./MIA issue, telling the stories of those captured, released, passed away, or whose remains have yet to be identified and come home, with a focus on Vietnam losses. The Network also helps identify individuals pretending to be true military heroes and expose their false claims and forged documents. Another much-appreciated service is helping families trace their military legacy and obtain records of lost loved ones, to keep their stories alive.

Numbers of veterans participating in Veterans Week are increasing as new veterans return and want to enjoy the welcoming atmosphere along with their families and friends. Your generosity through support of fundraisers is appreciated, as are sponsorships to help with the goal of at least $50,000 to cover expenses for this year’s Veterans Week. Contributions are tax-deductible as the Network is a registered nonprofit organization.

A donation of $25 is suggested for entry at the June 12 concert. The Showroom at Branson Meadows is located at 4600 Gretna Rd. in Branson. For additional information, call 417-544-0071.
