New mobile food pantry gearing up to serve Stone County

During these economically uncertain times, many Stone County residents are struggling to have basic necessities and groceries. We are blessed to have groups like Christian Action Ministries and several churches, partnering with agencies including Ozarks Food Harvest and Convoy of Hope, working to meet that need.

However, the available resources are not always accessible by some of the area’s neediest populations: the indigent; people homebound due to health concerns or age; or those without reliable transportation. That’s where the Stone County Mobile Food Pantry comes in.

Stone County Mobile Food Pantry is being organized and implemented by Stone County residents Steve and Donna Caulfield. “I want to work in conjunction with the existing food pantries, and go out and seek the people who can’t get out and get the food,” said Steve, whose work experience and volunteer experience have helped him become very much aware of those needs.

A trailer has been purchased, nonprofit status is in process, and Caulfield is working with several grocery companies regarding food donations, with the goal of having the mobile pantry fully operational by early summer, 2026. It’s a big project, with a lot of territory to cover, so any donations of funds or practical assistance are appreciated.

Working together, we can follow the scriptural mandate to love our neighbors and assist the poor. To learn more about how you can help, contact Steve Caulfield at 417-699-9337 or at paramedicsteve56@yahoo.com
