Mr. Patton resigned as mayor last January 16, 2025 when the board of aldermen selected him to succeed Rick Ziegenfuss as the next City Administrator for the City of Hollister. Due to policies in place with the Missouri Ethics Commission, Mr. Patton was required to take a cooling-off year after he resigned from elected office before becoming an appointed staff member. Mr. Patton has been serving as the Director of Economic Development since January 20, 2025.

Mr. Patton shared, “I am honored and excited for the opportunity to continue nearly ten years of service to the City of Hollister and our community in my new role as City Administrator. We have exceptional staff and a dedicated board of elected officials who work every day to put the citizens and business owners of Hollister first. Our people truly make the difference, and I am confident that together we will manage future growth while staying true to the culture and values that make Hollister special.”

On behalf of the board of aldermen, Mayor Jeff Long said, “With the appointment of Lamar Patton as City Administrator, the board of aldermen reaffirms its dedication to excellence in leadership and service. His experience and vision will help carry our strong foundation forward and guide Hollister toward a bright and promising future. We are excited to work with Mr. Patton for the future good of Hollister.”
