KAL wraps up summer fun, turns the page to fall children’s programs

As summer fun comes to a close at the Kimberling Area Library, the pages are turning toward fall with the return of Story Times and Lego Club activities for area children.

Young readers are reminded there is still time to participate in KAL’s Happy McReaders reading promotion. Children who read 10 books can earn a free Happy Meal through Aug. 31, while supplies last.

With the new school year rapidly approaching, KAL continues to provide activities for area children through its Story Times and Lego Club, offering opportunities to read, learn and create throughout the fall.

According to Carolyn Spence Cagle, KAL publicity, Children’s Story Times will feature holiday themes and topics common to the school year, giving children an opportunity to enjoy stories and literacy activities together. Story Times are scheduled for Sept. 14 and 28, Oct. 12 and 26, Nov. 9 and Dec. 14.

KAL’s Children’s Lego Club will offer another opportunity for children to learn and create and will move to the first Monday for most fall months. Lego Club is scheduled for Oct. 5, Nov. 2 and Dec. 7.

All children’s events begin at 10:30 a.m. and last approximately one hour at the Kimberling Area Library, 45 Kimberling Blvd. in Kimberling City.

“Children of all ages and caregivers are welcome to attend for learning and literacy fun,” Cagle said.
