While both Benjamin Albert (BA) and Samuel were successful businessmen, it was BA that became a prominent fixture in Branson. He served as Mayor of Branson, owned and operated a number of Branson businesses, and held many civic positions, as well. BA Parnell was one of the founding members of Skaggs Community Hospital, now known as CoxHealth Branson.

BA and his wife Opal became the parents to Benjamin Albert Parnell Jr., known as Ben. Ben was a visionary, with a mind for business, and became a prominent business and community leader in both Branson and Springfield. A successful banker in Kimberling City, Springfield and Branson, he has been credited for establishing funding for Silver Dollar City. It was Ben's vision that helped make Branson into the internationally acclaimed tourist destination it has become, and his legacy continues to live on in Branson today. It was Ben and his wife that donated the land where Skaggs Community Hospital was built. And, it was Ben and his wife, Jean, and their immediate family for whom the Parnell Drive home near downtown Branson was built.
