A well known doctor in the Branson area has passed away. Holly Wherry, MD, left this earth on August 27, following a long illness. She was surrounded by family and friends.

Dr. Wherry, a Branson physician, was 48 years of age. Following medical school at the University of Missouri in Columbia, Wherry completed her residency at Cox Medical Center in Springfield before accepting a position at Skaggs Medical Center, Branson, which would later become CoxHealth Branson.

Dr. Wherry remained at the facility for nearly 20 years, was dedicated to her patients and her community, and well respected by her peers. It was her devotion to her patients that set Wherry apart from many doctors, as her career was far more than a job to her, it was a calling that she answered with commitment and compassion.

Dr.  Wherry, who served on the Cox Board of Directors for more than a decade, was also devoted to her co-workers and colleagues, whom she considered some of her closest friends.

A devoted daughter, sister and friend, Wherry will be remembered for her devotion to her family, her friends, her patients and her career.

Donations in Dr. Wherry's memory can be made to Rescue One, 2000 South Stewart Avenue, Springfield, MO 65804.
