Community members are coming together to prepare for a free Thanksgiving dinner in Crane, and organizers are asking for donations to help make the event possible.

The free Community Thanksgiving Dinner is scheduled for Thursday, Nov. 19, at First Baptist Church in Crane. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m., with dinner served at 6 p.m. The event offers an opportunity for community members to gather, share a meal and celebrate the spirit of Thanksgiving.

To help prepare the dinner, organizers are collecting several food items and supplies. Community members, businesses and organizations are encouraged to contribute to ensure the dinner has everything needed to serve those who attend.

The donation list includes 130 boxes of stuffing, 12 cases of green beans, 15 bags of marshmallows, 12 bags of brown sugar, 15 pounds of butter, 10 cases of sweet potatoes, one case of cranberries and 15 boxes of chicken broth.

Each donation will help organizers prepare the traditional Thanksgiving dishes that bring people together around the dinner table. Whether donating a single item or contributing a larger quantity, every gift can help lighten the load of preparing a community-wide meal.

Community events such as this rely on the generosity of local residents and businesses. By working together, the community can help ensure the dinner is ready for everyone who wishes to attend.

The dinner will be held at First Baptist Church in Crane on Nov. 19, with doors opening at 5:30 p.m. and the meal served at 6 p.m.

For more information about donating or helping with the event, contact Shannon Cox at 417-209-7970.

As the community prepares for Thanksgiving, the dinner serves as a reminder of the importance of generosity, fellowship and caring for neighbors. With donations and support from local residents, organizers hope to make this year's gathering a meaningful celebration for the Crane community.
