Concert to raise funds for Branson entertainer

A benefit concert, organized by Branson entertainers, will help raise funds for one of their peers.

Doug and Cheryl Gabriel, stars of the Doug Gabriel Ultimate Variety Show, present Friends Helping Friends, a fundraising concert to benefit vocalist Shelia Yeary who is fighting cancer. This will be an unforgettable afternoon of music and community, as many favorite Branson entertainers unite to support Shelia and her family, in her battle with brain cancer.

Set for August 3, the concert will feature Yakov Smirnoff, Doug Gabriel, Billy Yates, Barbara Fairchild and Roy Morris, SIX, The Duttons, Melody Hart and the All-Star Band, and Absolutely Country - Definitely Gospel.

The afternoon event will also include a silent auction, with many amazing items donated by area shows, attractions and businesses.

Friends Helping Friends will be held on Sunday, August 3, beginning at 2 p.m. at the Mansion Theatre on Branson's Expressway Lane. Suggested donation is $20 per person, and seating is general admission, so you are encouraged to arrive early for the best seats to this powerful show.

"Shelia Yeary has sung on our stages, hugged our necks and prayed with many strangers," said Doug Gabriel. "Now it is your turn to give back through your kindness. We adore Shelia and know you all do, too! It's going to be a fun time and we can't wait to see you there."

August Jammin' For Jesus canceled; help support Friends Helping Friends Concert

We want everyone to know that our regularly scheduled August 3 concert has been canceled, but we will pick up again Sunday, September 7, with special musical guest Bruce Haynes, along with Kenny and Lisa Gamble, and Lakoda Stanton. The September concert will benefit the men of New Life Restoration Center.

There will, however, be a benefit concert Sunday, August 3, at The Mansion Theatre from 2-4 p.m. to benefit Shelia Yeary and family. They are calling it Friends Helping Friends. This concert will feature local favorites such as Yakov, the musical group SIX, Absolutely Country - Definitely Gospel, Melody Hart and the All Star Band, Doug Gabriel, Billy Yates, Barbara Fairchild and Roy Morris, and the Duttons.
