Cars and dogs welcome at The Wash in Forsyth

On July 27, a ribbon cutting was held with the Forsyth Area Chamber of Commerce to celebrate additions and improvements to The Wash, located at 16328 Hwy 160 in Forsyth, across from the Taney County Courthouse.

Chris and Shawna Scott have owned The Wash since February 2026, but the business has been around for over 30 years. Shawna, who grew up in the Forsyth area, recalls it being a fixture in the community and a local hangout for high school friends stopping by to spray the mud off their truck tires. After all these years and various changes in ownership, though, the Scotts decided upon acquiring the business that it was time to brighten the look and add some upgrades including high-pressure bays, new vacuums and premium cleaning products.

They also decided to take a chance on adding a dog wash facility, sparing pet owners the work of corralling a pet and cleaning up after the procedure. “It turns out the community has responded very favorably to the idea,” said Shawna, as the dog wash has been quite well-received; check out some great pet pictures on The Wash Facebook page.

The Scotts are committed to engaging with and listening to members of the community, as well. Toward that end, they have added a fan for better air circulation during hot weather and plan to add a split unit soon for climate control in the pet area, as well as a ramp to accommodate older dogs, and are open to additional upgrades in response to needs expressed by the community.

Supplies are dispensed for the pet shampooing and conditioning cycles, similar to the options available in a car wash bay, using natural safety-approved products from trusted suppliers. Additional vending options, such as treats, are a possibility in the near future.

The car wash bays and pet wash are accessible anytime seven days a week except for possible closures for safety concerns during inclement weather. Check the Facebook page for ongoing improvements and more pictures!
