Branson welcomes back the Thunderbirds for a historic Branson Wings of Pride Air Show

After years away, the roar of the United States Air Force Thunderbirds will once again echo through the Ozark hills as they return to the Branson Airport for the 2026 Branson Wings of Pride Air Show over Labor Day weekend.

For many in the community, this isn’t just another event—it’s a long-awaited homecoming.

The Thunderbirds, widely known as “America’s Team,” represent the skill, precision and professionalism of the men and women of the United States Air Force. Their return to Branson marks a significant moment, reconnecting the region with one of the most iconic aerial demonstration teams in the world.

A patriotic celebration for a historic year

This year’s air show carries even deeper meaning as it aligns with the nationwide celebration of America 250—the 250th anniversary of the United States.

“Having the Thunderbirds here during this milestone year makes this event even more special,” says Kerry Floyd, Wings of Pride Air Show Director. “It’s not just about aviation—it’s about celebrating our country, honoring those who serve and bringing the community together in a powerful way.”

One of the biggest lineups in event history

While the Thunderbirds may headline the show, they’re far from the only reason to attend.

The 2026 lineup is one of the most exciting Branson has ever seen, featuring a mix of military demonstrations, high-energy aerobatics and historic aircraft. Performers include:

  • U.S. Air Force C-17 Demonstration Team

  • U.S. Army Golden Knights

  • Kirby Chambliss

  • Aarron Deliu

  • Bob Carlton

  • Jeff Shetterly

  • Joe Shetterly

  • Matt Younkin

  • Emma McDonald

  • Tom Larkin

  • Rich Dawe

  • Jim Peitz

  • More to be announced

Fans who attended last year’s show will recognize many returning favorites—but 2026 is bringing plenty of new energy as well. Several performers will be making their first appearance in the Ozarks, adding exciting, never-before-seen performances to an already stacked lineup. From gravity-defying aerobatics to powerful military demonstrations, the show promises something for every generation.

More than an air show

Organizers emphasize that the Branson Wings of Pride Air Show is designed to be a family-friendly, community-centered experience.

With interactive displays, opportunities to get up close to aircraft and a welcoming atmosphere for all ages—including free admission for young children—the event continues to grow as a Labor Day weekend tradition in Branson.

A community effort

The return of the Thunderbirds is also a reflection of the strong support from the Branson community.

“The Air Force selects locations that truly embrace what these teams represent,” Floyd notes. “Branson’s patriotism and community spirit played a big role in bringing the Thunderbirds back.”

Don’t wait to be part of it

With national attention, a historic theme and one of the strongest lineups to date, demand is expected to be high.

Organizers encourage attendees to secure tickets early as availability is limited, and pricing will increase as the event approaches.
