Branson observes Flag Day with parade

Downtown Branson was the location of the city's Flag Day parade, held on Sunday evening.

Spectators lined Branson's Commercial Street and Branson Landing Boulevard to enjoy the parade, which included floats, decorated vehicles and both adults and children, decked out in red, white and blue. Area nonprofit organizations and businesses were represented, and community leaders and political figures took part as well.

The parade celebrated June 14th's Flag Day, which commemorates the adoption of the flag of the United States of America on June 14, 1777.  It also paid tribute to America's upcoming 250th birthday—the anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence 250 years ago on July 4, 1776.
