Veterans of the Ozarks host annual golf tournament

On Saturday, September 19, the Veterans of the Ozarks hosted their annual golf tournament fundraiser at the Holiday Hills resort in east Branson. Over 100 golfers comprising twenty-six teams braved the heat, expressing gratitude for the breeze that helped cool things a bit, to compete in the 4-person scramble format for cash prizes and special awards.

The tournament was once again sponsored by many local area businesses donating and providing raffle prizes, with Modern Woodsmen, along with Marilyn and Marvin Bucholz of Elephant Butte, New Mexico, as the titled sponsors.  Over $15,000 was raised in support of helping local veterans in times of need.

In addition to serving other veterans in need, VOTO provides Honor/Color Guard for area military funerals and regularly hosts the quarterly QPR (Question, Persuade, Refer) Suicide Prevention Training. This training is open to the public, with the next training scheduled for October 26.
