USACE reopens one swim beach, closes another

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is reopening the swim beach at Aunts Creek Campground on Table Rock Lake.

The temporary closure was a result of higher than acceptable E. coli levels that were found during routine testing conducted by field office personnel. Two acceptable water samples are required by the Stone County Health Department prior to reopening a swim beach.

In the meantime, The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is closing the swim beach at Old Highway 86 Campground on Table Rock Lake until further notice because of higher than acceptable E. coli levels that were found during routine testing.

USACE has posted signs indicating high bacteria levels at the swim beach.
