Theater manager injured, family appreciates support

One of Branson’s biggest champions and most beloved business women has suffered severe injuries, the result of a motor vehicle accident.

Cindy Thomas, the manager of the Mickey Gilley Grand Shanghai Theater, was hospitalized with significant injuries and had to undergo many hours of subsequent surgeries following an early July accident. Following her hospital stay, Thomas was recently moved to a Transition Care Facility for the next stage of her recovery. Thomas, according to family members, is making progress, but has a long way to go, and the costs associated with her recovery are mounting.  

Experts are telling Cindy and her family that she will need ongoing therapy, home health therapy and even specialized equipment when she is able to return to her home. Cindy’s family is committed to helping her recover and regain her independence, but the road ahead of her will be difficult, both physically and financially,

Cindy’s brother Hugh has begun a GoFundMe page to help meet the overwhelming costs associated with her recovery. Hugh is asking the community for their help and support during this difficult time.

“Any support, whether through donations or sharing Cindy’s story, will make a meaningful difference in her recovery,” said Hugh on the GoFundMe page. “Thank you for considering a contribution to help Cindy on her path to healing.”

The family is also asking for prayers for Cindy during this trying time. 

Many of Cindy’s friends shared the GoFundMe page on social media last week. Cindy Loeb, wife of the late music legend Mickey Gilley, summed the thoughts of most when she spoke of Cindy Thomas, on a social media post, saying, “If you know Cindy, she will never ask for anything—always the giver, but I’m asking you, if you’re able, to help with whatever you can to make a dent in the mountain that lies ahead. It takes a village, and I pray we can help relieve her heart as she heals.”
