Taney County Partnership to host hiring event

Taney County Partnership, in collaboration with the Missouri Job Center, invites area job seekers and area employers to participate in the Tri-Lakes Area Hiring Event. It will be held at the Branson Chamber offices, 4100 Gretna Rd. in Branson, on Tuesday, September 8, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Participation is completely FREE, both for employers and those wishing to check out job opportunities.

●      Learn about current job openings, including the seasonal uptick as Branson prepares for increased visitors enjoying the Ozarks fall and heading into Ozark Mountain Christmas;

●      Meet directly with local HR professionals and hiring representatives;

●      Explore opportunities across multiple industries;

●      Ask questions and make valuable connections;

●      Discuss your skills and goals and discover positions that might be a great fit.

No advance registration is required for job seekers to attend.

New to the hiring event this year is a window of time reserved specifically for veterans and their spouses to meet with employers.

“Branson is a patriotic city,” said Jonas Tavares, Director of Workforce Development with Taney County Partnership. “We want to incorporate plenty of opportunities for our veterans.” Tavares said Veterans Representative Mitchell Beede with the Missouri Job Center has been a valuable partner in developing the idea for reaching out to veterans.

Exclusive veteran access is from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m., with the event opening to the general public at 2 p.m. Job seekers should bring copies of their resumé, dress professionally, and come prepared to make a great first impression.

The hiring event is a potential win-win, as employers have the opportunity to promote seasonal, part-time and full-time opportunities face to face with local area job seekers, and employers already planning to attend say the time is well-invested.

“Even with today's technology, there is no substitute for meeting face-to-face,” said Tony Ji, General Manager of Marriott’s Willow Ridge Lodge in Branson. Hiring events allow for real connections, to establish trust and have meaningful conversations that simply cannot happen through a website or social media. They also provide a better understanding of the company culture, career opportunities, and benefits package. We encourage anyone exploring a new opportunity to attend.”

Space is limited to approximately 20 participating employers and can be reserved on a first-come, first-served basis. Employer set-up begins at noon on the event date. Employer registration is required by Friday, August 28, or until all available spaces have been filled. Visit
