Summer in the Ozarks isn't complete without a visit to the Shepherd of the Hills Adventure Park. There are a number of nightly events going on for just a few more weeks at the park and the outdoor theatre.

Now through July 30, the new Ozarks Aglow is open Tuesday through Sunday at 7 p.m. featuring an enchanted nighttime walk, showcasing larger-than-life lantern sculptures. It's all themed from Harold Bell Wright's famous novel, “The Shepherd of the Hills,” and segments of the walk will share the incredible perspective of Little Pete, from the novel, (who always saw things in a different light and shape than the rest of the people). The story really shines with the sharp looking displays; this is definitely a must see.
Back for its third season, Shepherd's Wild West Showdown will continue in the Outdoor Theatre through August 7. The performances are Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 7:30 p.m. Hold on to your hats. This experience is an authentic live cowboy show much in the spirit of the Buffalo Bill Wild West shows from 125 years ago. There’s lots of amazing horsemanship. A talented cast of cowboys and cowgirls will display daring stunts and tricks, from Roman riding to whip cracking, to trick roping, with family fun comedy thrown in. Even a courting scene on horseback is displayed. All ages will love this performance. The cast includes a dozen horses and fourteen performers. Their patriotic segment at the end of the performance will have you on your feet. Catch this event now before it's gone! This show has been receiving loads of great reviews.
Also, in the Outdoor Theatre, the legendary Shepherd of the Hills Outdoor Drama is back for its 66th year. A total of 58 actors and actresses bring to life Harold Bell Wright's iconic story, covering the book’s highlights in two hours. Over twenty head of livestock are used. The performances are Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday at 7:30 p.m. There are combo specials available to add the Historic Tour, the Great American Chuckwagon Dinner Show, and the Outdoor Drama all together. The Outdoor Drama will continue through late October.
