SMX World Championship Final set for Thunder Ridge, Sept. 26
Motorcycle racing will once again take over Thunder Ridge Nature Arena later this month as the 2026 SuperMotocross season concludes in the Ozarks.
The Monster Energy SMX World Championship Final will be held Saturday, Sept. 26, at Thunder Ridge Nature Arena in Ridgedale, where championships in the 450 and 250 divisions will be decided.
The SMX World Championship combines Monster Energy AMA Supercross and Pro Motocross competition. Supercross is raced on stadium-style courses featuring jumps and technical sections, while motocross is traditionally raced outdoors over natural terrain.
The 2026 regular season included 17 Supercross rounds and 11 Pro Motocross rounds. The top 20 riders in combined points in the 450 and 250 divisions qualified for the postseason, which includes two playoff rounds before the championship final at Thunder Ridge.
Defending SMX world champions Jett Lawrence and Jo Shimoda are among the riders listed by Thunder Ridge for the event, along with Eli Tomac, Ken Roczen, Aaron Plessinger and Haiden Deegan. The final field will depend on postseason qualification.
Race weekend activities begin Friday, Sept. 25, with Progressive FanFest from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. and a pre-race press conference at 11:30 a.m. FanFest returns Saturday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Opening ceremonies are scheduled for 5:30 p.m., followed by the gate drop at 6 p.m. Times are subject to change.
The weekend will also include a Women’s Motocross Championship invitational, a non-points race.
The championship final features general admission lawn seating. Friday and Saturday FanFest experiences require separate tickets in addition to an event ticket. Free parking is available, along with camping, travel packages and VIP options.
