Skaggs Derby Social recap

Skaggs Foundation successfully hosted its second annual Skaggs Derby Social on March 27, 2026, at the Graystone Valley Event Center. The Kentucky Derby–themed fundraiser welcomed approximately 175 guests from across the community in support of local health and wellness initiatives.

Guests enjoyed an evening of entertainment provided by Live Events DJ, professional photographer provided by Sheila J. Photography along with gourmet food prepared by Graystone Family Kitchen. Festivities also included a lively raffle and friendly competitions recognizing Best Hat, Best Bowtie and Best Dressed Couple, adding to the celebratory Derby atmosphere.

In addition to generous event sponsorships, five local community members competed in a peer-to-peer fundraising race to benefit the Skaggs Foundation. All proceeds raised support programs and projects in Stone and Taney counties, ensuring that every dollar stays local to address community health and wellness needs.

For the second consecutive year, David Arney led the fundraising effort, earning the top spot in the Derby race. Fellow participants Angie Teel, Cy Bortner, Dr. Andi Selby and Ann Ferguson-Murray were also recognized as winners for their commitment, leadership and contributions toward the success of the event.

The evening also included the presentation of the 2026 Skaggs Legacy Award to Becky Roberts, honoring her longstanding dedication to championing health and wellness throughout the community. “Becky is so deserving of this award,” said Meghan Connell, President of Skaggs Foundation. “It recognizes someone whose dedication and actions create a lasting positive impact in Stone and Taney counties — establishing a legacy that will benefit our community now and for generations to come.”

“I am grateful to everyone who stands with us as we continue working toward a brighter, healthier future for every person who calls this community home.” Connell said.
