Shoot for a good cause at the Young Life Fundraiser

The fall season in Taney and Stone counties abounds with opportunities to have a good time while supporting a good cause, and for those who enjoy sporting clay shooting, the “Clays for Kids” fundraiser benefiting Ozark Mountain Young Life is a great way to support ministry and fellowship for area youth! 

The sporting clays tournament will be held Saturday, September 12, at Ozark Shooters, 759 U.S. Hwy. 65, north of Branson in Walnut Shade. Starting at 8 a.m., the event includes 50 sporting clays plus ammo, for an individual fee of $125 or $500 for a team of four. Breakfast and lunch will be served, and participants will also receive a commemorative event hat as well as one raffle ticket per shooter, for prizes including a rifle. 

Ozark Mountain Young Life currently has Young Life clubs active at Branson, Galena, Blue Eye and Reeds Spring. Young Life, which began in the 1940s, is dedicated to entering the students’ world to learn their names, hear their stories, show up at their events, and share the good news of a God who loves them. Summer camps take the experience to the next level, as students spend what some call the “best week ever,” enjoying outdoor activities in a beautiful setting, eating delicious family-style meals. Evening gatherings feature a progressive Gospel presentation that starts the week by recognizing young people’s questions of “who am I” and “why am I here,” then addresses the problems of sin and evil, and leads to the solution of Jesus. 

In addition to the high school clubs in the area, some also offer WyldLife clubs particularly aimed at the needs and issues of middle-schoolers; and while students of all ability levels are welcome at all clubs, special Capernaum clubs offer a dedicated program for those with special needs.
