Reader’s Corner: Take flight with summer reading, earn air show tickets

What if there was a way to keep your kids reading this summer while also earning a great prize? Check out the Summer Reading Takes Flight program, a summer reading challenge for kids ages six to 12 that can earn them FREE General Youth Admission tickets to the Branson Wings of Pride Air Show, to be presented by CoxHealth at the Branson Airport on September 5–7.  

To get started, visit https://bransonwingsofpride.com/summer-reading-takes-flight-2/ and download the Summer Reading Takes Flight coloring sheet. Then, between now and August 20, the child should read any 10 books and color in one picture for each book completed. When the challenge is complete, follow the instructions on the website to order FREE tickets for all eligible children ages six–12 when attending with a paid adult. 

If some of your kids are faster readers than others, not to worry; if at least one eligible child in the household completes the challenge, all eligible children in the family qualify for a ticket. (Children age five and under will also be admitted free.) For a chance to win an additional special prize, take a photo of the completed reading tracker, post it on Facebook, and tag Branson Wings of Pride Air Show\\FACEBOOK. 

“We’re really excited about the program,” shared Air Show Marketing/Communications Director Jade Darling. “It’s a fun way to encourage kids to read this summer while giving families the opportunity to save money on experiencing the air show together. 

When reserving tickets, families must select a show day to attend and purchase at least one paid adult admission. What a great way to incorporate some aviation history or other educational information into your child’s summer and reward their efforts with a fun day!
